Zanzibar

Zanzibar is technically part of Tanzania, but it has such a different look & feel that many travel books treat it as a separate country. Compared to the mainland, Zanzibar has a distinct Mid-east vibe, complete with its own culture, religion, & cuisine. It's kind of like part mid-east, part Caribbean.

Zanzibar is more about the ocean than the wildlife, a big difference between here and the mainland. Spice production and fishing are the big businesses here; combining these two makes for some great eating!
